Mississippi Republican Party Has Successful State Convention
Strong List of Delegates from Mississippi Headed to the Republican National Convention in Cleveland in July
The Mississippi Republican Party held its 2016 State Convention on Saturday, May 15th, in Jackson. The convention was tremendous success with record participation from across the state. Chairman Joe Nosef presided over the two-day event as 40 delegates and 37 alternates were elected to represent Mississippi at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland, Ohio, that will take place in July. In addition, a new 52-member state executive committee was elected and Joe Nosef was re-elected unanimously to serve as the Mississippi Republican Party’s Chairman for four more years. Henry Barbour and Jeanne Luckey were re-elected as the Republican National Committee Members from Mississippi and six electors were named to cast Mississippi’s votes for President and Vice President in the electoral college. Delegates, Alternates and guests to the State Convention heard from Governor Phil Bryant as well as nearly every statewide and federal official.
