Capitol Resources Expands into Tennessee

Former GOP Leader to Lead TN Operation

(Nashville, TN)-Capitol Resources, the South’s leading government relations and lobbying firm, with offices across the region, is pleased to announce Tennessee Republican Party Executive Director Adam Nickas will head the firm’s office in the Volunteer State.

Nickas led the Tennessee Republican Party’s highly successful effort to expand the Republican majority in the Tennessee General Assembly, and he has worked on local, state and federal campaigns throughout the region.

Capitol Resources is one of the largest and most versatile state-based lobbying firms in the country, with offices in Mississippi, Alabama, Louisiana, Florida, Tennessee and Washington, D.C.

“Adam is an excellent fit for Capitol Resources,” said Henry Barbour, a partner in the firm.  “His leadership is proven and his drive is unquestioned.  The GOP gains in the Tennessee statehouse were noticed around the country, and he will be a tremendous asset to our clients.”

“Capitol Resources has an established reputation for excellent service to its clients throughout the South,’’ said Adam.  “I look forward to helping our clients achieve their objectives and working closely with the leaders and members of the Tennessee General Assembly and the Tennessee Executive Branch.”

Nickas focused on results

Adam, a Germantown, TN native and University of Memphis graduate, has worked on the campaigns of Senators Lamar Alexander and Bob Corker, former Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour, a presidential campaign, and Tennessee gubernatorial,  congressional and legislative campaigns.

Nickas was named Political Director at the state Republican Party in May 2010, and Executive Director in 2011.  In his role as Executive Director, Nickas managed a $1.2 million campaign budget, oversaw communications, candidate recruitment, fundraising presentations, and the implementation of an aggressive grassroots strategy across the state.

During his tenure, Republicans achieved remarkable gains: flipping 21 seats in the state house and seven in the state senate. This is the first time Republicans have ever held supermajorities in the state house and state senate. In 2010, Republicans in Tennessee also made history by electing a Republican Governor, Lieutenant Governor and Speaker of the House.

Established in 2001, Capitol Resources LLC is a full-service government relations firm based in Jackson, MS operating in Mississippi, Alabama, Louisiana, Florida, Tennessee and Washington, D.C.  The firm’s partners are Clare Hester, John Lundy, Henry Barbour and former Congressman Chip Pickering.
